After 35 years of biodynamic agriculture and the production of grapes for sale to third parties, Carlo and Lucia gave life to the Terracanta project, starting from a solid agricultural foundation and a passion for natural wine, extra virgin olive oil and kiwi. Located at the foot of the Lake Albano, a small volcanic crater lake in the Alban Hills of Lazio, Italy. In the cellar the wines ferment spontaneously and mature in ‘Qvevri’, a large buried Georgian terracotta amphorae. No invasive oenological practices are used. Fining and filtration would alter the wine’s vitality. The composition of the soil is volcanic with silt clay and sand.
